CAN I PLAY ON SPLASH.POKER WITH A MOBILE DEVICE?
YES. You can play on splash.poker using your iPhone/iPad or Android device, but there’s a little trick to setting things up correctly so that you have an optimal experience. Click here for a full explanation.
HOW ARE EARLY REGISTRATIONS HANDLED? DO I NEED TO STAY LOGGED IN?
You can register for any tournament once registration opens for that tournament. When you register, the program moves your buy in to an account for the tournament and registers you as a player. If you leave Splash.poker, nothing happens with your registration. You just need to be in the Lobby at the time the game starts.
I’M AT MY TABLE, WHY DID THE GAME FOLD MY CARDS?
Everyone who gets seated is initially in “Sitting Out” mode. Your seat will have your name on it. If no seat has your name, then you do not have a seat at that table and you should go to the lobby and make sure you registered. But if you do have a seat, there is a button on the lower right that says “Ready.” Until you hit the “Ready” button, the game will just blind you out, thinking you paid for a seat, but didn’t show up.
HOW COME THE GAME STARTED AND I’M STILL IN THE LOBBY?
The program will automatically take you to your seat when the game starts. It can take a few seconds for the software to move you to your seat, so don’t panic until it’s been more than 20 to 30 seconds. But if you expected to be at a seat and you are in the lobby, most likely you didn’t actually register for the game. Many players think that signing up on Meetup/Rounders and depositing funds is all that is necessary. You must also go to Splash.poker and hit the Tournament tab in the Lobby, highlight the game you want to play and hit the Register button at the bottom right. If the game has already started and the lower right button in the Tournament tab says “Late Registration,” you didn’t register and you need to do a late registration. There is no penalty for late registration, except, like everything else in life, they come to an end.
HOW DO I (SELECTIVELY) SHOW MY CARDS?
The default is to always automatically muck your cards. You can change this in the Lobby. Hit the Options menu item. Then hit Table Settings. There are a number of settings you can play with, but one says “Auto muck” and it’s checked. Uncheck it. Then, when appropriate, a button will pop up asking you if you want to show or muck your hands. You can make this change at any time, even during a game. The other items under Options also let you personalize the game in various ways.
TOURNAMENT CLOCK:
The current software does NOT provide a tournament clock. We are working on this with the software vendor but it may still be a while. Here is the WORKAROUND:
When you’re seated at your tournament table, go to MENU and select Statistics. It will pop up a window immediately to the right of the table which updates at the END OF EVERY HAND. It shows the level, next level blinds/antes and time remaining in the level as well as other useful information about average chips, etc. It’s not the perfect solution, but it’s A workable solution for now.
TIME BANK:
Many of our tournaments contain a “TIME BANK” feature. This works as follows:
- Every hand is timed. In most tournaments, you will have 30 seconds in which to act before your hand is checked/folded.
- During the last 10 seconds, you will start to see a count-down timer and a “TIME BANK” button will appear in the lower right of the screen.
- If you need more time, press the button. It will add the amount of time remaining in your time bank to your timer.
- Once you act, the time bank stops using up its time and your action is completed.
- Whatever amount of time you had left in your time bank is still available for a subsequent hand.
- Each player’s time bank resets to a full minute after a certain number of hands (usually 10) are played.
IT’S A RE-BUY TOURNAMENT, I JUST GOT KNOCKED OUT. HOW DO I RE BUY?
Most of our tournaments have a re-buy feature. The details of the games posted on Meetup/Rounders gives you the time limit on re-buys. They are never unlimited. In the Friday game, the re-buy period ends at the end of level 4, before the break. For the Sunday game, it’s at the end of level 6, before the break. Once we pass those time limits, if you get knocked out, you are done for that game.
Before that period, if you are felted, two buttons pop up. One says “Rebuy” and the other says “Leave.” You have to hit Rebuy if you want to re buy into the tournament. You will only have 30 seconds to make your decision. If you don’t have funds on deposit, you will have nothing to re-buy with.
HOW ABOUT ADD-ONS AND OPTIONAL RE-BUYS?
On your table page at the upper left is a menu item called (what else?) “Menu.” Select Menu. Then select Add more chips. A dialog box will pop up to guide your through the process. You can sue this to re-buy before being felted as well, which is a feature of the Sunday Noon Deep Stack game.
HELP! I NEED TO RE BUY OR ADD ON AND I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS ON DEPOSIT!
If you get felted, you only have 30 seconds to hit the Rebuy button. If you don’t have funds, you would need to deposit funds in the time you have left. You can see how that can be a problem. For the add-on which occurs during a 10 minute break, you can send in a deposit and if we see it, you’ll get credit immediately so you can do the add-on. NOT recommended due to the short time period.
If you don’t have funds and someone at the table is willing to advance the funds for you, there is a “Transfer chips” provision in the Lobby under “Account.” Any player with funds in their account can transfer funds to any other player using this menu item. This is a direct transfer and we don’t have to be involved, so you are not waiting for us to make the transfer. Maybe you can get all this done in 30 seconds.
Our recommendation is: have enough funds on deposit to cover all your possible re-buys and add-on, just in case.
WHAT’S THAT “TOTAL” BOX JUST ABOVE THE TABLE?
Generally, it just tells you how many chips are on the table, both in the pot and those being bet or raised. But if you hover your cursor over that box, a box will pop up with lots of good information for you, like how much time is left in the level, the top, bottom and average stacks and much more.
WHAT IS EXTENDED CHAT?
Each table has a small box in the bottom left in which messages to players and your comments can be found. Extended chat takes that box and moves it to the right side of the table. A box at the bottom says “Move table chat here.” If you hit that, then your chat will show in that box, and the little chat box on your table screen will disappear. It’s like magic. Along with extended chat, you can also look at the General Info, Stats and History tabs.
WHAT IF I REGISTER FOR A GAME AND THEN CAN’T SHOW UP?
No shows are strongly discouraged. But things come up in life. We’d prefer you come to the site and unregister rather than just not show up. Doing that returns your buy-in to you and doesn’t affect the game. Most of our tournaments permit late registration. If you registered and didn’t show up for a tournament that permits late registration, your stack will be blinded off until you do. We will hold your seat until the end of the late registration period and at that time, remove you and your chips from the game. The game deducts your buy-in from the prize pool and returns it to your account. This does not apply to tournaments without late registration! In non late registration tournaments, your stack will continue to be blinded off until it’s gone and your entry will not be refunded.
If you do not show, your account may be suspended until you provide an adequate explanation, whereupon it may be reinstated. We are not fans of dead stacks being blinded out at tables. They end up being feeders for those who happen to be in the right seat and that can be unfair to other players. If you have a reasonable explanation, your absence will be overlooked. But if there is no good explanation or it happens again, we will return to you the funds in account, if any, and permanently close your account. It’s not fair to the other players.
